Local Communities

There are 109 chonai-kai and jichi-kai in Chiyoda, volunteer councils consisting of residents working to improve living conditions in the community. Their activities extend from communal daily matters such as crime and fire prevention, traffic safety, trash management and cleaning to recreational activities including bon dances, fireworks events and rice-cake making. In these volunteer councils there may be some members who are well versed in foreign languages, including English. If you are interested in joining the volunteer council, please ask your Japanese neighbors or the head of the council in your community for more information.
